Coconut Fiber PE Masterbatch

WYC-PE YS60E

Coconut Fiber PE Masterbatch combines coarse coconut coir with a polyethylene carrier, creating a deep brown concentrate with visible strands and an intentionally rugged plant-fiber character. The PE carrier makes it suitable for polyethylene formulations where a softer, more flexible molded feel is preferred. Processors can change the let-down ratio to tune the color depth, strand density and final surface texture. It is intended for developing planters, storage baskets, protective household parts, handles and pet accessories rather than for use as a finished resin by itself.

Usage Guidelines and Processing Notes

Material use

This is a concentrated masterbatch and must be let down with compatible pure PE. Use at least 1 part pure PE to 1 part masterbatch. Increasing the PE proportion makes individual fiber marks appear larger but more widely spaced, so confirm the ratio with a molded trial.

Color matching

Color matching is supported within a limited range. Because the natural base is deep brown, select dark color families; pale or bright colors cannot reliably cover the original tone. Confirm the target with a molded color sample.

Processing method

Injection molding.

Mold care

Use hardened, corrosion-resistant mold steel. Clean the mold promptly after processing, because plant-fiber composite material left in the tooling can corrode the mold if it is not removed in time.

Processing Notes

StageStarting guidance
Material preparationBlend with compatible pure PE at a minimum 1:1 ratio.
Barrel temperatureUse the lowest practical PE processing temperature and adjust to the machine, mold and part.
MoldSet according to mold design and finished-part requirements.

Important: These notes are starting references only. Excessive temperature or residence time can scorch or carbonize the coconut fiber. Confirm the final settings on the actual machine and clean the mold promptly after processing.
